Waterjet X-Y Cutting Machines: Maximizing Precision and Efficiency

KMT Waterjet offers the broadest range of waterjet cutting machines in the World. Our global OEM network of CNC integrators offers X-Y entry-level tables to six-axis robotic cells, all powered by KMT ultrahigh-pressure pumps from 6.200 bar to 3.800 bar.

X-Y CNC Water jet Systems-Features/Benefits

  • X-Y axis waterjet cutting offers one of the most efficient and cost-effective solutions for a wide range of projects. This technology can handle virtually any material across various industries, delivering precise cuts to meet your exact specifications.
  • With applications across many fields, 2-axis (XY) can process thin materials without raising the optional Z-Axis. Whether you need complex shapes or simple blanks, waterjet cutting stands out as the preferred method due to its absence of heat-affected zones (HAZ) and minimal kerf size, resulting in minimal waste and exceptional versatility. KMT advanced waterjet pump and cutting head technologies ensures perfect accuracy in cutting steel, titanium, aluminum, brass, copper, plastics, and many other materials.
  • For high-volume jobs, multi-headed, 2-axis waterjet cutting tables offer significant time and cost savings compared to other fabricating methods.

Versatility: Powered by KMT pumps, CNC water jet machines cut a variety of materials including metal, stone, composites, prototypes, foam, paper, plastic, chocolate cakes, celery, green beans, fish, chicken, and much more.

Types of Machinery: Standard two-axis X-Y tables, including abrasive and water-only cutting systems. Perform complex cuts in 2D and 3D, X, Y, and Z-axis, 4-axis taper control, combination saw/jet, combination waterjet/plasma, 5-axis and 6-axis robotic systems.

Precision Cutting: Achieve intricate cuts with accuracy up to ±0.1 mm.

Minimal Material Waste: Reduce scrap material with narrow kerf widths, saving costs.

Cold Cutting Process: Minimize the risk of material warping or melting, preserving material integrity. Environmentally friendly.

High-Speed Operation: Increase productivity by increasing pump horsepower, using multiple cutting heads, increase the velocity of the water jet stream to pressures up to 6.200 bar-The World’s Fastest Waterjet.

Reduced Secondary Processing: Achieve finished edges, reducing the need for additional finishing steps.

Cost-Effective Production: Improve efficiency and decrease production time, resulting in lower overall manufacturing costs.

Established Legacy: KMT Waterjet, formerly Ingersoll Rand, has been the pioneer in the waterjet industry since 1971. Baxter Springs, Kansas-Recognized as the “Birthplace of Waterjet Cutting“.

Extensive Network: KMT collaborates with a global network of over 180 CNC machine OEM manufacturers to deliver high-quality water jet systems.

X-Y AXIS CUTTING FAQ'S

Q: How does an X-Y waterjet cutting system function? A: Water is pressurized by KMT pumps to extremely high levels, up to 6.200 bar, and then forced through a small orifice at the cutting head. This high-velocity stream of water is used to cut through materials.
