Water jet One Dimension Cutting
Slitting with a continuous waterjet stream is often used in one-dimensional water jet cutting systems. The frame of the system is usually quite simple; waterjet cutting speeds are high and the system is almost always pure water cutting only (no abrasives) using KMT Waterjet Pneumatic Valves Cutting Nozzles. The most important considerations are speed of waterjet cutting, reliability and minimal moisture residue (which is very low due to the high speeds and small waterjet stream).
With one-dimensional waterjet cutting, very small orifice streams are used (as small as .007") and the material moves very quickly beneath the cutting head (in some cases, the head is moving very quickly). For those reasons, water retention on the material is very low and multiple waterjet cutting heads can be used at the same time. One dimension water jet cutting using KMT Waterjet Systems pumps and cutting heads is commonly used in the food (vegetables and frozen foods) and paper industries.
